CiteCost puts estimate calculators on contractors' websites. This page covers what happens to what you type into one.
Working out a price
The range is calculated in your browser. Moving the sliders and switches sends nothing anywhere.
Sending a request
If you press “Send my request”, your name, phone, email, ZIP code, note and answers are emailed to the contractor whose site you were on. That is the point of the form, and it is the only place they go.
- We store the request so the contractor can see it in their CiteCost dashboard, as well as in their email. It is kept while their account is open and deleted when they close it or ask us to.
- Our email provider (Resend) keeps delivery logs, and we may receive a copy to check the service is working.
- We do not sell or share your details with anyone else, and we do not use them for marketing.
- The calculator sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising.
Once the contractor has your request, how they use it is up to them. To have the copy we hold deleted, write to Media Yard LLC, PO Box 73, Pennsauken, NJ 08110.
Contractor accounts
Contractors sign in with a link we email them. We keep their email address, their widget settings and prices, and the requests their widget receives. Signing in sets one cookie that keeps them signed in for 30 days; it is used for nothing else.
The price API
The public price API takes the job details in the request and nothing that identifies a person. We do not store the questions asked of it.
Demos
Demo calculators send nothing, even if you fill in the form.
